Super Bowl 2008: Brooklyn Parties

Watch the big game at a Brooklyn bar.

By Kristen Goode, About.com

Can't make it to Phoenix this year to watch the Giants take on the Patriots? Try catching the game on Sunday, February 3 at one of these Brooklyn bars, where you can cheer on your favorite team with a cheap drink in hand.

If you know of an event not listed here, tell me about it.

Brazen Head

228 Atlantic Ave
(718) 488-0430

Head to Brazen Head on Atlantic Avenue for $4 pints and, if you're in the mood, a $5 Bloody Mary or two. The bar will be serving free bagels all day long (a Sunday tradition), along with free chicken wings and other snacks from 6pm on. The game will be showing on four screens.

The Lighthouse Tavern

243 Fifth Ave
(718) 788-8070

Wear your Giants or Patriots jersey to The Lighthouse Tavern, and you'll get a free shot when your team scores. The bar will be serving $2 Buds, and for every beer you buy, you'll be entered in a raffle to win a free trip to Atlantic City. The bar is planning on a full house, but you can reserve your seat now -- Prices range from $10 to $75. Call (718) 788-8070 for more information.

Monkey Town

58 N 3rd St (Williamsburg)
(718) 384-1369

At Monkey Town, the game will be showing on four big screens. There will be specials, but get there early, as seating is limited to 48 people. The bar/restaurant will have a $25 minimum, and guests will have the option of ordering al a carte or the prix fixe "Tailgaters' Menu."

Floyd, NY

131 Atlantic Ave
(718) 858-5810

Cheap beer will be a staple at Floyd's Super Bowl party. The bar is offering $10 Crap-A-Copias, a true bargain (the C-A-C consists of six cans of beer).

Solomon's Porch

307 Stuyvesant Ave
(718) 919-8001

Expect drink specials and low prices on wings, burgers, and wraps at this Bed-Stuy spot, where the game will be showing on one big screen TV.

The Gate

321 5th Ave
(718) 768-4329

Hit this Park Slope favorite for free food and snacks (courtesy of the Atlantic Chip Shop). The bar will be showing the game on two TVs.

Freddy's Bar and Backroom

485 Dean St
(718) 622-7035

There won't be any Super Bowl drink specials at Freddy's, but the beer here is always cheap. Hit the bar up for a laidback night -- The game will be showing on three screens.

Pacific Standard

82 4th Ave
(718) 858-1951

Gather a group of beer-loving friends before you head to Pacific Standard on Super Bowl Sunday. The Brooklyn bar will be showing the game on a large screen, and its pitcher specials will be perfect for a small crowd.
